Lichen striatus with nail involvement Diseases

Lichen striatus is an uncommon disease of unknown origin characterised by a linear inflammatory papular eruption with spontaneous regression. Nail involvement in lichen striatus is uncommon and is not necessarily associated  with typical skin lesions. The diagnosis of nail Lichen striatus should be strongly suspected when a child or a young patient presents with lichen planus-like nail abnormalities in a single nail. Highest incidence in children aged 6 months to 12 years. The male gender predominated by 9:3. The lower limb is involving more often than the upper limb and trunk. The duration of the disease until regression ranged from 4 months to 4 years (median, 12 months).
