Lichen planus of nails is characterized by irregular longitudinal
grooving and ridging of the nail plate, thinning of the nail plate,
pterygium formation, shedding of the nail plate with atrophy of the nail
bed, subungual keratosis, longitudinal erthronychia (red streaks), and
subungual hyperpigmentation.
